about

Utai: Fuji/Shité: apparition of the holy spirit of glycine/between innocence and maturity

A young woman’s youthful frivolousness. This tableau depicts moments in a young woman’s life with their share of contrived gestures. At that point in life, a more sensible perception of one’s environment starts to manifest itself. A different type of movement makes it’s early appearance. The protagonist’s realization of the fleeting nature of life brings about a greater purity of movement. The cherry tree is naturally endowed with a spiritual and aesthetic beauty. But the true symbolic value of the Sakura lies in the passing of seasons, when the tree is close to losing its delicate blossoms.
